To practice as a Sports Coach under the current legislation, it is mandatory to hold a valid Professional Title for the exercise of the coaching activity within the national territory. The respective title can be at a level ranging from Grade I to Grade IV.
To obtain the Sports Coach Professional Title (TPTD), attendance at the Initial Training – Sports Coach Course is required, as defined within the scope of the National Training Program for Coaches (PNTF). The course includes three distinct training components:
- General Component – Common to different courses (if applicable);
- Specific Component – Related to each of the sports/modalities/subjects/styles considered by the respective federations;
- Workplace Training Component – Known as Internship.”
